2017: near in the distance 3
In this performance the challenge was not only to connect a number of venues around the world in real time via high performance networks, but also to combine two different low latency transmission technologies (LoLa, UltraGrid) in a single performance for the first time.
Review
"Performing arts over advanced networks" has the potential to develop into an art form in its own right. A fully-fledged international community has sprung up that devotes itself to this matter.
Artists
At the Brucknerhaus Linz, another magical collaboration unfolded. Numerous artists and their audience together took another step into the future of multi-site performances.
Partners
Our network partners operated the data networks for "net:art | near in the distance 3". The technical teams on site and behind the scenes supported the artists with experience and passion.
Main Venue
"net:art | near in the distance 3" was performed twice: first in a 30 minutes short version, then in an 80-minute performance. All in all, more than 400 people attended these shows.
Remote Venues
The audio-visual content from several distant locations arrived simultaneously in Linz. The challenge was to deal with two different low latency technologies in one show.
